CATHERINE
(KATE) ASHWORTH graduated from the European school of Osteopathy
in 1987. After gaining experience in a variety of practices, she took
over as Principal of an established practice in Chislehurst and moved
it to Orpington High Street in 1990.
The Practice expanded to include two further osteopaths, and a masseur
and reflexologist, all committed to the highest levels of patient
care.
In 2008 the practice was relocated to Ravensbourne to improve parking
and disabled facilities for patients.
Lecture appearances include having been involved in local GP Registrar
training, the Orpington Back Pain Association, and regular talks to
local yoga and exercise groups.
Kate has completed post-graduate training in cranial osteopathy and
is also qualified in homeopathy for the osteopathic patient.
Preferring to focus on the patient and tailoring the treatment to
the individual, she is a firm believer in the premise that, “If
you understand the reason for your pain you take the first step to
conquering it.” Therefore she takes great care that patients
are fully aware of all the facts available, relating to their condition,
in a language they understand.

CLAIRE
JONES qualified in Therapeutic Massage and Reflexology in
1994 from The College of Holistic Medicine and gained a further qualification
from The Association of Reflexologists in 2000.
Claire joined The Ashworth Practice in 1998 to work in combination with the Osteopaths providing a preventative health care programme for those patients who’s conditions indicated significant stress related elements.
Both Massage and Reflexology induce a state of deep relaxation and
are beneficial in cases of stress, lethargy, insomnia and general
aches and pains.

PHILIP
(PHIL) ASHCROFT is a graduate of the British School of Osteopathy
(2006) and joined The Ashworth Practice in 2009. Having benefited
from osteopathic treatment as a teenager, he was left in no doubt
that this was the career for him. Phil currently practises structural
osteopathy, but appreciates the efficacy of other treatment approaches.
In 2008 Phil undertook a course at The British Medical Acupuncture
Society in medical acupuncture (dry needling, working on "trigger
points") that he can use to complement osteopathic techniques.
It is particularly useful for chronic pain, acutely restricted joints,
and repetitive strain type injuries.
If you would like to incorporate Medical Acupuncture into your osteopathic treatment please let the receptionist know at the time of booking. A small surplus charge (currently £3.00) applies for the cost of the disposable needles.
